Answering Prayer: Does God Answer All Prayers?

Answering Prayer: Does God Answer All Prayers?

By Ron G Anselm

This is really a question that I have been reading about more and more lately. Maybe with the turmoil all of us have gone through with the economic collapse, loss of jobs, loss of homes, cars and personal belongings, not to mention more and more people who never thought they would ever lose their job let alone be living one day in a tent city somewhere in this country now more and more people are realizing they cannot go through life without a higher power and that higher power is God.

When I was younger and cocky, I thought I could take on the world alone. I thought I would pave my own way alone through the turmoil`s and challenges and obstacles we all face while taking the journey of life. I quickly found out I was dead wrong.

I think after going through a lot in life I learned I cannot go through life without prayer and without God. Everyone to be able to get through life`s challenges needs a higher power and prayer. I recently got saved at my church and since getting saved my life has changed for the better. I have an inner peace now that I never had before.

So, the question, "Does God Answer Your Prayers?" Or does it seem like sometimes your prayer don`t go any higher that your ceiling? You have to first look at does God hear everyone`s prayers whether they are saved, a believer, or a Christian. Yes, God does hear everyone`s prayers but you have to pray within Gods will which means if you are praying to hit the lottery and become rich God is more than likely not going to answer those types of prayers. God answers prayers that are in his will (Matt. 26:39)

The other thing I have learned about prayer is that sometimes the answer to my prayer may be no, may be yes, or God`s answer to it may be different than what I am praying for. Remember, God knows what we need and what is best for us better than we do. Also, a lot of people are impatient when they pray. They want what they are praying for now. Remember, God answers prayer in his time. Yes, I understand if you are praying for a job because you need one now then of course from the human side anyone will want a job right now if you need one now but God still will answer that prayer in his time. I once prayed for something in the past and it took about 25 years to finally get my prayer answered. Most of the time it does not take 25 years or so to get a prayer answered but when my prayer was answered it came at the most perfect time to when I needed it to be answered just like God knew what I would need in 25 years from when I first prayed for it. Amazing!

As in the Bible under Luke 11:9-10 says that if it is His will we can Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Further, in Psalm 34:17 He says, "The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles." In fact God tells His people to pour out our hearts to him, for God is our refuge (Psalm 62:8). (whatchristianswanttoknow, 2011)

The other circumstance when you pray and your prayer may not seem to be answered is if you are living within sin or if you fail to forgive others. As Jesus said, "forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. (www.whatchristianswant.com, 2011) For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." Therefore, a believer that is living in sin or fails to forgive others has their prayers blocked since they are out of fellowship with the Father." (www.whatchristianswant.com, 2011)

How can God answer your prayer if you don`t forgive others as God forgave you? So, from my personal experience getting saved, going to a good Bible based church and having fellowship with other Christians is probably the most rewarding thing anyone can do. Find a good church, get saved and pray often. Your life will change for the better if you let God into it.
