LA Shock Jocks Suspended For Telling Truth About Whitney Houston
"John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou were suspended from KFI radio`s popular The John and Ken Show after ranting about Houston`s drug use and referring to her as a `crack ho.`
The announcement of the suspension was made yesterday on the station`s website. KFI`s management classified the comments made this week on the show as `insensitive and inappropriate.` Management stated they do not `condone, support or tolerate statements of this kind.`"
The job description of a shock jock is to be "insensitive and inappropriate", for the management of the radio station to suspend the shock jocks for their comments about Whitney Houston makes as much sense as a strip club owner suspending a stripper for taking off her top.
The radio management stated that they don`t "condone, support or tolerate statements of this kind." What they are really saying is that they don`t condone the truth.
Whitney Houston confessed to using controlled substances, there`s absolutely no doubt that she was a crack head. But were the shock jocks correct in labeling the pop icon a wh[o]re? A crack addict will do anything, even sell her child, to get her hands on a couple of rocks of crack. Calling Whitney a "ho" isn`t really that much of a stretch, although I would never refer to her in such disrespectful terms. But then again, I`m a columnist, not a shock jock.
On the day before Whitney died she was doing handstands next to the hotel pool, drunk or high out of her mind. Anybody who acts like that deserves to be called a "crack ho." Should we make an exception for Whitney because she`s rich and famous?
