Historical Sports Dynasties

Historical Sports Dynasties

By Kenrick Rampersad

Whether conscious or unconscious, sports fans have a rival, a team they love to hate. For some fans there would be nothing better than seeing that rival disappear from prominence. These feelings become stronger when the teams hated represent a historical dynasty.

Perhaps the most hated teams in America are the New York Yankees, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Cowboys. Those teams are utterly despised when they are on top and intensely mocked when they suffer a "down period of time". However, sports fans need to realize that more often than not those dynasties, those dominant teams are exactly what their leagues need to stay relevant, to gain high revenues.

Before fans spend their energies hating and praying for those teams to fail miserably they need to analyze how beneficial it is to actually admire what they represent. Then maybe a different kind of hatred can develop, one that is in actuality healthy hateful respect.

Welcome to An Extra Moment, and I am glad you could share it with me.
