One Tree Hill Season 9: Disappointment to Longtime Fans

One Tree Hill Season 9: Disappointment to Longtime Fans

By Garrett Godwin

Brooke Davis may have found Julian Baker as "the one" on One Tree Hill, but Sophia Bush has not in real life. US Weekly reported that the actress has called it quits with co-star and real-life beau Austin Nichols after being together on and off for about six years.

Like her and Austin, Sophia was one-half of OTH supercouple Brucas (Brooke & Lucas) with former leading man Chad Michael Murray, who returned as Lucas (albeit briefly) in last week`s episode directed by Nichols.  Chad and Sophia got married in 2005, but the marriage only lasted five months, and their divorce was finalized a year later.

"Last Known Surroundings" was kind of a disappointment to longtime OTH fans, as Lucas` scenes were only with BFF Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) over the disappearance of husband and Lucas` half-brother Nathan (James Lafferty), not to mention the absence of Peyton (Hilarie Burton) and daughter Sawyer, though they were briefly mentioned.  Most of all, not only we were denied the opportunity to hear Lucas as the narrator one last time, but his return was just for this episode.

Hopefully, the next episode will be an improvement with Nathan continuing to fight for his life at the hands of his kidnappers.  Though the promo shows of a possible death, Lafferty does return for the April 4 series finale, as creator Mark Schwahn told reporters last month that this season will show why Nathan and Haley ("Naley") are indeed soulmates.

One Tree Hill airs Wednesdays at 8p on the CW, but you can pre-order the final season at when it comes out on DVD April 10.
