Target Pulls 'Offensive' Whitney Houston Greeting Card

By Robert Paul Reyes

"With Whitney Houston`s passing not even a month in the past, Target stores have quickly pulled an offensive greeting card mocking the pop singer from the shelves.

The card, poking fun at Houston`s troubled relationship with former husband Bobby Brown, was sold in the national chain`s stores before the singer`s death on Feb. 11.

The text of the greeting reads, `Next time you think of dating the bad boy ".consider Whitney Houston. That`s all I`m going to say.`

Target shouldn`t be the target of haters, the "offensive" greeting cards was sold in the national chain`s stores before Houston`s death on Feb. 11.

In my humble opinion, the card isn`t offensive, the card reminds a young lady that if she marries a "bad boy", her life will turn out to be a nightmare instead of a fairy tale.

In fact there should be a series of Whitney Houston greeting cards -- how about a "Crack is Wack" greeting card for a teen who is experimenting with drugs?

Let`s not pretend that Whitney Houston was a Mother Teresa, she was a flawed human being and she shouldn`t be treated like divinity. Why not use a greeting card to warn young people not to follow in Whitney Houston`s steps?
