Bruce Springsteen Older Than Dirt; His Fans Too Old For Digital World

By Robert Paul Reyes

"On, `Wrecking Ball: Special Edition` logs in at number 95 on the MP3 download chart. Yet, on Amazon`s chart of physical sales, the album is number 1, right behind Adele. Hitsdailydouble is predicting total sales of between 200,000-210,000 in a virtual heat with Adele."

Bruce Springsteen is older than dirt, and a lot of his fan are now six feet under the ground. The ones that are still alive think they are cutting-edge because most of their albums are in CD format, instead of vinyl.

The Boss is notorious for playing long sets, most of his fans will go to the bathroom three or four times during his three hour performance. There better be plenty of portable toilets, each equipped with a Depends dispenser.

Bruce is an analog dinosaur living in a digital world, his devoted followers don`t know a download from a set of dentures. The Jersey "Kid" may never reach the top of the iTunes chart, but he will move plenty of physical product.

Bruce`s fan base is from a generation that enjoyed reading the liner notes on the cover of a vinyl album, they may never download a song but they have enough discretionary income to buy a boatload of CD`s.

Rock on Bruce, as long as the batteries on our hearing aids hold out, we will continue to groove to your music.
