UK Lobbying for a Nuclear Weapons Free Zone in the Middle East?
The US military, after assessing the repercussions of an attack by Israel upon Iran, predicts that such an attack would quickly escalate into a war involving the whole Middle East region which would entail the involvement of the United States and its allies, leaving hundreds dead and injured.
Is this what Britain really wants? What the British government should be actively lobbying, with the EU, is a Nuclear Weapons Free Zone covering the entire Middle East which would include both Iran and Israel.
Only then will there be the opportunity for world peace. Failing which, we and our children can look forward, in a few months time, to a nuclear war in the Middle East that would soon escalate to include Pakistan and other nuclear states. What the end would be is impossible to forecast other than that the loss of life would probably be counted in thousands rather than hundreds as radiation would contaminate entire states as it spreads across continents via the elements.
All this, as a result of an astonishing political trick that has allowed one state in the world to have built up an estimated secret arsenal of up to 400 nuclear warheads by operating a policy of "nuclear ambiguity` that is outside of the inspection of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
