We Are Zombies!
"About 700 people ran `for dear life` in the 5K Zombie Survival Run in Kentucky, organizers said.
On Saturday, runners had to evade about 100 actors dressed as zombies as they made their way through Cherokee Park to benefit the Alley Theater in Butchertown.
Runners wore belts with three red flags; whenever a zombie took a flag, it represented a wound. The goal was to make it to the finish line with at least one red flag."
Zombies are very popular in movies and TV programs, and the reason is quite obvious: We resemble zombies. We watch reality programs that dull our senses; we wince at the spectacle of the Republican presidential nomination circus; and we are impotent to do anything about the rising cost of gas or the unemployment crisis.
We peck away at our keyboards in our cubicle world, afraid to rebel against the system because we are afraid to lose our meaningless jobs.
We are nothing but zombies, might as well poke fun at the sad state of affairs. Every city should hold their own zombie race, people need to wake up and smell the coffee.
