The SOP Word of the Day: Interface

Interface refers to the visual experience of the software user. Interface can also refer to the external experience of a user or individual in a certain set of circumstances.

Interface today usually refers to computer software and how this presentation relates to the user of that program.

Example: The Graphical User Interface of this program allows for the user to download files with one click. Outside of the computer realm, interface usually infers the connection between individuals and something or someone from an "external" environment.
