Miley Cyrus' Film 'LOL' Bombs! Should Miley Retire From Show Business?

By Robert Paul Reyes

"LOL may stand for `laugh out loud,` but the Miley Cyrus new film of the same name didn`t appear to have had the same effect on cinema audiences.

The teen romantic comedy flopped at the U.S. box office last weekend after being released in a limited number of screens.

According to sources, the film, which co-stars Demi Moore and Ashley Greene, earned approximately $46,500."

It is now quite clear that Miley`s career as an actress peaked as "Hanna Montana", when she was barely a teenager. The pop tart`s concert films have done very well at the box office, but "The Last Song" and "LOL" have been huge bombs.

As a singer the pop diva has done considerably better, but she`s no Britney Spears or Lady Gaga. At the moment Cyrus is in a rut, and she can`t get anything going as an actress or a singer.

The only way the teen queen can elicit any headlines is by being videotaped or photographed smoking a bong, eating a cake shaped like a p[e]nis, or by wearing a miniskirt and no drawers and praying that a photographer will snap an upskirt pic.

"LOL" had the misfortune of being released on the same weekend as the blockbuster "The Avengers." A girlfriend might be able to persuade her boyfriend to see a chick flick like "LOL" on a day when there`s no good movies playing. But a lady would have a better chance of convincing her man of getting a Brazilian wax and dying his hair pink, than watching "LOL" instead of "The Avengers."

Even if "LOL" faced no serious competition at the box office, it would still be a dud. The idea of Miley Cyrus as a serious actress is "LOL" funny.

Miley`s career as an actress is over at the tender age of 19, and her career as a singer is on life support. If Miley retires from show business, nobody would miss her.
