Madness In Japan: Runaway Penguin Captured After 82 Days

By Robert Paul Reyes

"A runaway penguin that spent more than two months evading capture in Tokyo was seized upon venturing onto a riverbank.

penguinOfficials with Tokyo Sea Life Park said the Humboldt penguin was on the loose for 82 days prior to its Thursday capture, Britain`s Guardian reported Friday."

Japanese are vertically-challenged; I`m not surprised the penguin was able to blend in with the crowd. Everybody must have assumed that he was a dude dressed in a tuxedo.

The adventuresome creature was none worse for the wear, zoo officials said the penguin managed to maintain his normal weight.

If a penguin ran away from a zoo in America, after a few days he would have his own Facebook and Twitter accounts, and he would have a name of course.

By the time he was captured, he would be a celebrity and he would be on Mitt Romney`s short list for Vice President.
