Judyth Piazza interviews Rio Grande Valley Artist Marilyn Brown

By Judyth Piazza CEO (Editor)

After retirement Marilyn was able to seriously pursue her life-long interest in art. She has studied over the past 25 years with many renowned professional artists and by experimenting with different media and techniques has developed her own unique individual style. She describes this style as playful experimentation where the process of painting is more meaningful to her than the final product produced. She states, I create art as a playful expression to please myself and if others should also appreciate my work it is an added joy.

Marilyn has conducted numerous classes and workshops in the Lower Rio Grande Valley over the past 18 years. She is a member of Laguna Madre Art League, Brownsville Museum of Fine Art, Harlingen Art League, Art & Cultural Center of Brownsville, San Antonio Watercolor Group and the Rockport Art Center.

She has won numerous awards for her paintings in watercolor, collage, acrylics and monoprinting in juried competition and her art is among private collections in TX, AR, and IL.
