Sheriff Joe Arpaio: Obama Birth Certificate 'Definitely Fraudulent'
Investigators for Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio held a news conference to declare that President Barack Obama`s birth certificate is "definitely fraudulent."
The default mode of a blogger or journalist should be skepticism; is Sheriff Joe trying to deflect attention from the civil-rights case against his agency? Is the controversial Sheriff seeking revenge against the Obama administration? Most reporters, from the left and the right, have been skeptical of the motivations and conclusions of Arpaio`s investigation.
Mike Zullo, Arpaio`s chief investigator, claims that numeric codes on certain parts of the document indicate that those parts weren`t filed out, but those sections asking for the race of Obama`s father and his field work were completed. I`m not an expert on historical documents, but this "numeric codes" proof seems like nonsense to me.
Why didn`t these same journalists express any cynicism when for years Obama failed to release his long-form birth certificate? When the president finally released his long-form birth certificate why did the media breathe a sigh of relief, and immediately proclaim the document genuine? Every journalist worth his salt should have demanded that Obama`s birth certificate be examined by experts, but of course there wasn`t an ounce of skepticism from the Obama-adoring press.
The Obama administration has declined to comment on Arpaio`s investigation, indeed why should Obama say one word, when the press is instinctively rushing to condemn Arpaio and his investigation.
Obama is fortunate that this investigation to determine the validity of his birth certificate was conducted by a man who demonstrably a racist, but I`m a liberal Hispanic who is not entirely convinced that Obama was born in America.
I care more about the truth than I do about political correctness, and I pray that credible and trustworthy individuals will investigate Obama`s birth certificate.
