Assam CM Complains against National Media

By SOP newswire

In the shameful girl molestation case of Guwahati Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi had denied to create any pressure on the news channel, in which Editor-in-Chief resigned from his post on Tuesday, July 17.

At a press conference in Guwahati on Tuesday evening, the Assam CM had denied to create pressure on the CMD of News Live channel.

"I do not talk anything with the management of the news channel over the case," Assam CM said.

Meanwhile, Atanu Bhuyan, former Editor-in-Chief of News Live resigned from his post allegedly due to the Assam CM comment on the journalist`s ethics and announced an overall inquiry into the girl molestation case handed over to CID.

However, Assam CM complained against the national media`s role for focusing more and more on negative stories of NE region.

During the press conference, the Assam CM announced that the state government would appoint a Police Commissioner in Guwahati very soon.

Meanwhile, Mamata Sarma, chairperson of National Commission for Women (NCW),  arrived in Guwahati and she was to meet Assam CM and the molested girl.
