SF Wants To Ban Outdoor Smoking, Except For Medical Weed! Bravo!

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Smoking anything other than medically-prescribed marijuana at San Francisco street fairs, festivals and other outdoor events held on city property would be banned under new legislation before the Board of Supervisors.

Supervisor Eric Mar said he introduced the proposal because of the health impacts of secondhand smoke when people light up in public."

I hope this legislation becomes law in San Francisco, and I hope that every city, town and hamlet in our nation will follow suit.

Secondhand smoke is responsible for thousands of deaths each year in the United States, and there is no safe level of exposure. There should be zero tolerance for smokers who callously pollute the air that we all breathe.

Not only should smoking in outdoor events be banned, but any scofflaw who dares light up should be hit with a fine of at least $100.

I`m glad that an exception would be made for medically-prescribed marijuana, but even the recreational use of marijuana should be permitted.

There are no dangers associated with secondhand marijuana smoke, you may get the munchies and buy a dozen corndogs at the fair, but you won`t get cancer.

Legalize weed!
