Todd Akin, Paul Ryan, Legitimate Rape & The Hypocrisy Of The Republican Party

By Robert Paul Reyes

Todd Akin is a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Missouri`s 2nd district, he is running to represent Missouri in the Senate.

Akin was a relatively unknown member of Congress until he made the following statement when asked in an interview if he supported abortions for rape victims:

"It seems to me first of all, from what I understand from doctors, that`s really rare. If it`s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down."

Akin`s statement stems from the mind of a Neanderthal who fears and loathes women. It`s the same mindset of clerics centuries ago who tossed suspected witches in the sea, under the belief that witches would sink and drown, but righteous women would survive.

If a woman who is raped gets pregnant then we know that she was asking for it, the Holy Ghost would surely protect a virtuous women from getting pregnant under those circumstances.

Females who were attacked while wearing revealing clothing, or who were out and about when they should have been in the kitchen preparing dinner, aren`t victims of legitimate rape. They are hussies who were practically begging to be sexually assaulted.

Certainly the males who were lured by these sirens, shouldn`t be prosecuted, it`s the fault of the women who were wantonly displaying their sexuality.

Republicans are attempting to portray Akin as an extremist who isn`t representative of their views. But most House Republicans voted for a piece of legislation co-sponsored by Todd Akin and Paul Ryan that would have narrowed the definition of rape.

Republicans are desperately trying to force Akin out of the race, they don`t want abortion or any women`s issue to dominate the conversation during the presidential campaign.

The Mitt Romney/ Paul Ryan ticket will go down in inglorious defeat if the electorate realizes that an anti-female spirit permeates the Grand Old Party.
