NPP Condemns House Arrest of Kashmiri Muslim Leaders

By SOP newswire

NPP Supremo, Prof. Bhim Singh extended Eid Greetings to the Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders under house arrest on the morning of August 18, hoping that authoritarian and anti-people government in J&K shall see exit at the earliest so that the people of J&K shall also be in a situation to pray along with other people.

Prof. Bhim Singh condemned the authoritarian government in J&K for exercising their unconstitutional authority to put senior Hurriyat Conference leaders including Mirwaiz Moulvi Farooq, Syed Ali Shah Geelani and others under house arrest thus denying them of their fundamental right to pray on the Eid day along with their Muslim brethren at the Eidgah. Prof. Bhim Singh questioned the Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, "If the Muslim leaders are deprived of their fundamental right to pray in J&K (India), where is the justification?"

NPP Chief described this authoritarian act of the government of J&K as highly anti-Islam, a dire breach of fundamental rights of the people and totally unacceptable in democratic India. He said that NC government is deliberately provoking the Muslim sentiments in J&K against the country so that the Muslim fraternity joins heat against the country to help enemies of India who have been trying their best to destabilize the country. Prof. Bhim Singh demanded immediate dismissal of NC-Congress government for this highly provocative act to stir the people of J&K against the Union of India.

Prof. Bhim Singh spoke to Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Moulvi Farooq under house arrest in Srinagar and extended heartful Eid Greeting assuring that the fundamental and civil rights shall always be defended by the Panthers Party.
