A Challenge to Build Wealth: A Money Manifesto

A Challenge to Build Wealth: A Money Manifesto

By Michael Teague (Mentor)

It`s easier than it has ever been in human history to make a million dollars! I hope that this statement arrests our attention and provokes us to action. For those of us who are not interested in a seven-figure net worth, yet who desire to build wealth, I believe that the same holds true: It is easier to build wealth now than it has ever been our history.

Today, we live in the Information Age. We have passed through the Agrarian Age, in which wealth was based upon land ownership as well as having people to develop the land. Feudalism was a characteristic of the Age. Additionally, we have moved beyond the Industrial Age, in which wealth was determined by manufactured products and services. In this Age, one needed factories, labor, as well as a means of production to build wealth. The Carnegies, the Melllons, and the Duponts are notable examples of families, who built wealth in this way.

Today, we live in the Information Age. Literally, with the click of a mouse or a touch on our iPads, we can advertise our products and services to millions. With outsourcing companies like and, we can enlist the services in other countries. I think that the successes of Mark Cuban; the Samwer brothers of Germany; Jeff Bezos; and Pierre Omyidar prove the wealth-building power of the Information Age.

I believe that there is a book and a business inside each of us. Also, I am convinced that we must possess multiple streams of income, if we are going to survive -- and thrive -- in this new economy. Why don`t you consider starting a Lifestyle Business? A Lifestyle Business is an enterprise, which manifests your gifts, your aspirations, and your passion, which you build around your lifestyle. I read a book, which transformed my thinking about this. It is entitled, "Click Millionaires," written by Scott Fox. Take advantage of the ease with which you can build wealth by starting today.

Food For Thought:

1. If you were to lose your job today, how long could you survive financially?

2. If money were not an option, what would you do for a living?

3. What gifts, talents, products, or services could you create and offer, that could comprise a lifestyle business for you?
