James Marr, 79, Helps To Chase Down A Thief! Senior Superhero!

By Robert Paul Reyes

"A sharp-eyed, long-distance-running senior helped catch a speedy shoplifter who allegedly ripped off a Manhattan drug store.

James Marr, 79, said he was walking west on East 84th St. when he heard somebody yelling, Stop thief! then immediately saw a man with a full laundry bag running past full tilt, followed by a Duane Reade employee who was losing ground."

The cops nabbed the thief a short time later and charged him with possession of stolen property and resisting arrest.

Reade`s crime-fighting days are over, he promises never to do anything like that again.
