Colorado, Washington First States To Legalize Recreational Marijuana!

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Initiatives to legalize the recreational use of marijuana and regulate the drug like alcohol passed easily in both Colorado and Washington last night. This is a watershed moment in the "War on Drugs" the first time that state voters have so nakedly flouted the authority of the federal government and the DEA."

Rolling Stone

The sale, use and possession of marijuana is illegal under federal law. However, several municipalities and some states have created exemptions for medical marijuana.

The dual victories in Colorado and Washington are a high point in the battle to legalize the recreational use of cannabis.

For the first time citizens have voted not merely to decriminalize, but to legalize the recreational use of pot.

"The recreational use of marijuana" isn`t a phrase that portends the end of Western Civilization; it`s high time that we made it legal and safe to purchase the natural herb.

I`m glad that in a few states the chronically ill are allowed to smoke weed, but the right to smoke grass should be enjoyed by all citizens, the sick as well as those who are in good health.

Let`s hope that former marijuana smoker, President Obama, will not send his DEA thugs to Colorado and Washington, and snuff out the will of the citizens.

Don`t light up a blunt in victory just yet, Obama hasn`t shown an inclination to end the insane "War on Drugs."
