Nigerian Teen Girls Create Urine-Powered Generator

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Four resourceful teenagers from Nigeria have created a generator that runs on a material easily found in any part of the world, pee.

14-year-olds Duro-Aina Adebola, Akindele Abiola, Faleke Oluwatyoin, and 15-year-old Bello Eniola created their urine-powered generator as part of Maker Faire Africa, a startup event held in Lagos, Nigeria that highlights African innovations and inventions.

The device works by separating out the hydrogen from urine and using it to power the generator."

Smart Planet

I commend these girls for not pissing away their lives like most teens in Africa and America. In a developing country like Nigeria it`s imperative that cheaper ways be invented to produce energy, and the girls are tackling this problem.

But these teens shouldn`t be clearing a place on their fireplace mantel for the Nobel Prize just yet. The separation of hydrogen from urine requires an outside source of electricity. Let`s not p*** or rain on their parade, let`s praise them for giving it the old college try.

The intelligent girls don`t have a pot to p*** on, imagine what they could accomplish if they had access to a lab.

Let`s hope a wealthy American will donate money for the girls` project, or pay for their college education.
