How To Set A Record For A Zombie Gathering

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Organizers of the Zombie Walk in downtown Phoenix said they broke the local record with about 6,500 participants but fell short of a world record.

Downtown Phoenix Partnership, which organized the gathering of residents in tattered clothing and undead-style makeup, revealed numbers this week showing about 6,500 people participated in the Oct. 27 event.

That marked a record for the 4-year-old Zombie Walk but fell short of the Guinness World Record for a zombie gathering, which was set by 8,027 zombies this year in Minneapolis."

I`m surprised a zombie gathering hasn`t broken the million undead threshold yet. With so many mind-numbing reality shows, all you need to do to set a record, is purchase a commercial during say, "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo", and instruct the viewers to head downtown. Instantly, you would see tens of thousands of zombies gathering in Times Square and the downtown areas of other major cities.

We may see a new record for a zombie gathering on Dec. 21, 2012, if a major cataclysm takes places on this fateful day, millions will be rendered zombified instantly.

These zombie events are sometimes referred to as a Zombie Walk or a Zombie Parade, but zombies don`t march in unison. They should always be called a Zombie Happening or a Zombie Gathering.

I`m ready for the Zombie Apocalypse, bring it on. I have plenty of beer, a shotgun, and the complete first season on DVD of " Here Comes Honey Boo Boo."
