Giant Cobra Made Out Of Dung Big Hit With Children
"A giant cobra made out of cattle dung was created to entertain children in a Siberian village during the frigid winter months, its 52-year-old sculptor says.
`I made it so the kids could play around and have some fun,` said Mikhail Bopposov, a native of the Siberian republic of Yakutia.
Bopposov is the building manager for the village school and gets his art supplies from the 17 head of cattle he raises."
You would be correct, figuratively and literally, if you branded Bopposov`s creation an 880-pound piece of crap.
An artist will make use of material that is easily accessible, in Siberia that`s snow or dung. Bopposov has used snow to create rabbits, but snow is too hard and difficult to work with. So dung it is!
But the kids love to play with the giant cobra, and they probably think Bopposov is the greatest artist in the world, or at least in Siberia.
Come spring, the Russian artist will recycle his creation into fertilizer for crops. Don`t you wish that a lot of the "art" this is displayed in museums could be recycled into fertilizer for crops?
