Moscow Officials Ban Drunks From Participating In Epiphany Baths
"Moscow officials said `drunk people` will not be allowed to take part in the traditional Epiphany bathing in ice-cold water.
The Epiphany celebrates Jesus Christ`s baptism in the Jordan River and the revelation of his divine nature."
This isn`t an obscure religious ritual, more than 120,880 Muscovites participated in 2012.
I would hate to make a mockery of a religious ritual, but there is no way I would take a dip in ice-cold water without being drunk as a skunk.
If drunk people will not be allowed to take part in the traditional Epiphany bathing ceremony that rules out most Russians, Christians and non-believers, from participating.
I`ve just had an epiphany, only about 120 Muscovites will take the plunge this year.
