Google Gives Consumers Opportunity to Buy Google Glass

By John Pustelnik

Google is giving consumers the opportunity to buy Google Glass, Google`s new augmented reality glasses, by using Twitter or Google+.

In order to get a chance to buy the glasses, first you need to use Twitter or Google+ and tell Google what you would do if you had Glass.

The application must be in 50 words or less, and must include the hashtag "#ifihadglass." People are also welcome to include a short, 15 second video as well. People younger than 18 years old are not eligible to win.

Google recommends that you follow them on Google+ or Twitter so they can contact you directly.

The deadline for the application is February 27th.

If you are lucky enough to be selected, you will have to pre-order a "Glass Explorer Edition" for $1,500, plus tax. You must also be able to attend a "special pick-up experience" in person, in either New York, San Francisco, or Los Angeles.

Google will not pay for the travel expenses.
