School Bus Driver Steals And Sells School Bus

By Robert Paul Reyes

"A Tennessee school bus driver accused of stealing and selling a school bus is no longer approved to drive for the school district, officials said.

The Knoxville Police Department said Hillman Greenlee, 61, of Knoxville, Tenn., was arrested on a theft charge after he allegedly took Bus 117, a 1998 Blue Ribbon Coach Bus, from a bus lot Wednesday and sold it to another person for $1,200, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported Monday."

The school bus, which police valued at about $2,000, was found abandoned later that day. I hope that old broken down bus wasn`t being used to transport children.

How can you sell a school bus without it looking awfully fishy, and why would anybody want to buy a school bus anyway?

It`s unfortunate that school bus drivers get paid barely above the minimum wage; I can understand why a school bus driver would be driven to desperate measures to make ends meet.

Greenlee has been fired by the school district, maybe he can make a living as a taxi driver.
