Radio talk show host and journalist, Judyth Piazza interviews JS Basnet, Author of  "JOYICE" on The American Perspective Radio Program.

Judyth chats with JS about her experience as an author, the time it took to complete her novel as well as gender inequality embedded in the social system.

JS Basnet was born in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. She holds a Bachelor`s degree in Arts. She currently resides with her two sons in Gainesville, Virginia. Her former publication includes an article on, Girl Trafficking in Nepal: An Overview, " for a human rights organization called South Asia Forum for Human Rights (SAFHR).

She has stood against the intrinsic gender inequality embedded in the social system. JOYICE, " a novel, comes in as her first approach to strengthen her beliefs in the equality of rights. She hopes to write more novels about the changing times, cultural dilemmas, and family values as she moves on with her intellectual endeavors.

JS tells Judyth that her two sons were her inspiration behind the book.  They are her mentors and have always been there for her.  They encouraged her to tell her story so that others  could learn from it.  She wants to help women around the world to be the best they can be regardless of their situation.
