Principal Goes Ballistic Because Kid Brought Cupcakes With Toy Soldiers

By Robert Paul Reyes

"A 9-year-old boy`s birthday cupcakes sparked a school controversy that just keeps growing, with scores of people lining up against a school principal who found the cupcake`s topping  `inappropriate.`"

The boy was chided, and so were his parents, for cupcakes featuring little green Army men on the top.

Schall Elementary School principal Susan Wright called the parents at home and said the cupcakes were insensitive in the wake of the Sandy Hook school shooting. School staff pulled off the Army men before they were served. "

Principal Susan Wright ruined a little boy`s birthday, and dissed our brave warriors.

There`s nothing inappropriate about a child decorating his birthday cupcakes with soldiers. Thank goodness that this boy considers our courageous military  heroes worthy to be celebrated and honored.

I`d rather the kid decorate his cupcakes with little green Army men, than with figurines representing wrestlers or entertainers.

A kid who grows up respecting the military isn`t likely to turn into a spree killer, but he might become a soldier who serves his country with pride and distinction.

The principal should have commended the young student for his patriotism, and wished him a happy birthday. She needs to take a long vacation -- can`t we let our kids have fun?
