Dude Steals Smartphone, Accidentally Posts Pic Of Himself to Victim's Facebook Page

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Cops are looking for a dopey Bronx thief who stole a woman`s cell phone and then was dumb enough to accidentally post a photo of himself smoking marijuana on her Facebook page.

Not long after, the victim noticed a photo of the man who robbed her taking a huge hit of weed on her Facebook wall and alerted the authorities. Cops said the victim`s phone was linked with her Facebook account to automatically post photos."

New York Post

Mugging victims for their smartphones, especially iPhones, is becoming an epidemic. If you`re riding a bus or train to work, it`s not a good idea to use your iPhone`s distinctive white earbuds; you will alert thieves that you have an expensive iPhone.

If your iPhone is stolen you can, and should, remotely delete the data on the phone so criminals won`t have access to your personal and financial information.

It goes without saying that your smartphone should be password protected. I doubt that the Bronx thief would have the technical ability to open a phone that was protected by a password.

This dumb thief smokes too much weed; he`s provided the police with an excellent photograph of himself, and it`s only a matter of time before they nab him.

Moral of this story: If you accidentally post a photograph of yourself smoking weed to your victim`s Facebook account, you may want to cut down on your marijuana consumption.
