Heroic Tiny Pooch Goes After Pit Bull To Save Girl, 8

By Robert Paul Reyes

"A plucky Chihuahua is being honored by an animal-rights group for saving its owner from an angry pit bull in Canada.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals said it was giving the little dog named `Honey` its `Small Dog, Big Hero` award for going after a neighbor`s pit bull, after the pit bull attacked 8-year-old Jenna Desrochers last week in Chilliwack, British Columbia."

My Pit Bull/German Shepherd mix is 100% muscle, the only thing soft about her is her heart. Mandy wouldn`t hurt a butterfly, but when I walk with her other dogs give her a wide berth, with the exception of little pooches.

Little canines are fearless; they will get right up to Mandy`s grill, and dish out a good barking.

I`m not surprised that the tiny Chihuahua went after the pit bull, saving the little girl from certain death. The child suffered serious injuries, but she`s expected to fully recover.

Honey is richly deserving of her award from PETA. She`s a brave little warrior, and I`m sure she`s being showered with hugs and kisses by her owners.

Adopt a canine hero from your local animal shelter, whether he`s a big hound or a little mutt, he will love and defend you.
