Could Brendan H. Mess`s 9/11/2011 Murder Be the Work of Boston Marathon Bombers?

Could Brendan H. Mess`s 9/11/2011 Murder Be the Work of Boston Marathon Bombers?

By John G. Kays

A sidebar story to the central Boston Marathon bomber episode, is the September 11th, 2011 triple homicide in Waltham, Mass., which included Brendan Mess (purportedly a good friend to Tamerlan Tsarnaev) as one of the victims.

That is, this nearly two-year old unsolved cold case is rapidly morphing to a headline story as inquisitive news sources piece together some interesting connections with the now deceased Boston Marathon bomber, Tamerlan Tsarnaev.

Until more specific coverage is posted, I`ll refer you to what I think are the two best citations, with outlines of what me might consider to be a connecting of the dots between Tsarnaev and Brendan Mess. For starters, you`ll want to take a close look at Michael Daly`s piece for The Daily Beast, `Tamerlan Tsarnaev`s Best Friend, Brendan Mess, an Unsolved Killing.`

And you`ll want to scrutinize  `Police probe possible link between Marathon bomber and unsolved triple homicide in Waltham,` published in the Boston Globe, with Michael Rezendes and Bob Hohler as the credited writers.

Okay, so I`ll cut it short, I`m beginning to believe that Tamerlan and his younger brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, were the killers of the three men, Brendan H. Mess, 25, Rafael M. Teken, 37, and Eric Weissman, 31. I`ll ask the obvious, who else could have done it?

Robbery would have to be ruled out as the motive, with $5,000 in cash left behind. Also, the killers could have taken the marijuana (which could be converted into cash), but they didn`t, unless they only nabbed part of it.

Yet, if the murderers were drug dealers, they most likely (in my mind) would have grabbed all the marijuana, with the idea that the cops could trace the drugs back to a source who could connect them to the homicide. Besides, they spread the marijuana over the victims, as if to make some sort of point to those who would come upon this horrific scene.

No, there`s something else going on here; I was hesitant to use the word ritualistic, since it will elicit accusations of sensationalism on my part, yet this is exactly where I`m at, it`s a ritualistic murder.

My impression, is that money didn`t have anything to do with it; rather, it appears as if the killers were offended by my some aspects of the victims behavior, possibly social or political in nature, possibly just a life style issue. I believe that the marijuana gets at the center of this rift; it`s passion slayings, but it appears to be symbolic at the same time.

I don`t brush off lightly that it occurred on the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, and I don`t think the detectives there in Waltham are rejecting the significance of this timing either.

It was widely observed that Tamerlan and Brendan Mess were, at one time, good friends, since they were boxing partners and both worked out at the same gym, Wai Kru Mixed Arts. Ray (who doesn`t want to be identified), an acquaintance to these sundry men (both victims and perpetrators), points out that Tamerlan failed to attend either Brendan Mess`s wake or his funeral.

I find this as very suspicious; however, a detective thought the real killers would have attended in order to deflect blame, by way of play acting their apparent sorrow and grief. I disagree!

What if the killers were incapable of showing any grief, if they, in fact, didn`t feel any grief? We hear that a couple of months after the ghastly slayings, Tamerlan takes off for Dagestan in Russia, supposedly to visit some family members. I find an aberration in this behavior; yes, it`s very suspicious, as is not attending the funeral.

The key to this mystery is the younger brother, who could possibly shed some light on the triple Waltham homicides. If it`s verified, then not only are these two terrorist bombers, they`re also serial killers!
