Hero Subdues Bank Robber With Candy Dish

By Robert Paul Reyes

"A New Jersey police chief said he is extremely grateful to a man who foiled a bank robbery by striking the suspect in the head with a candy dish.

Bayonne Police Chief Anthony Scianni said Brian Campbell, 30, wore a baseball cap and a bandana covering his face when he entered a Chase bank branch around 3:45 p.m. EDT Wednesday and demanded money.

Bank customer Anthony Farrington, 35, overheard Campbell, grabbed a candy dish and hit Campbell in the head with it."

This is the first time a bank`s candy dish has come in handy. Why is it that stinking rich banks always stock their candy dish with cheap hard candy? How about some Godiva chocolate or at least Tootsie Rolls?

The dastardly fiend`s head struck the counter, and the hero immediately tied his hands with a phone cord.

Farrington is MacGyver on steroids; he used a candy dish and a phone cord to subdue a dangerous criminal.

It`s a good thing the bank robber wasn`t wearing a bicycle helmet instead of a baseball cap. The creep was charged with first-degree robbery and is cooling his heels in jail.
