Monica is inspired by such legends as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Cleo Laine, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone and Lena Horne but makes the music she sings very much her own. Her voice is distinct and unforgettable."
Over the past year, she has been working with iconic music producer/pianist Bill King who produced her debut jazz album `But Beautiful`, soon to be released this summer of 2013. Bill put the finest renowned musicians in Canada on this album: Bill King (piano), Duncan Hopkins (Bass), Mark Kelso(drums), William Sperandei (trumpet), Anne Linsday (violin), Reg Schwager (guitar) and Luis Jorge Papiosco (percussion) and was recorded at Inception Sound Studios in Toronto, engineered by the brilliant Michael Haas.
Monica was born in Romania and came to Canada with her family at the age of nine, at which time she began to study piano. She attained her degree in Piano Performance and Voice at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University.
Her early interest in musical theatre led to a role with the Toronto Operetta Theatre Company in their production of `The Widow" in 2004,performed at the St. Lawrence Centre in Toronto. She also appeared in several musical variety productions in Toronto and beyond. In 2004 she recorded he debut CD titled "Sincerely" featuring Broadway show tunes.

Monica has evolved into a jazz performer over the past six years and she appears in veneus thorughout Canada
She recorded an EP titled "Heart`s Desire" in 2009 that was very successful.
"But Beautiful", her recent release , is her debut jazz CD and is now available on iTunes and CD Baby. This CD was featured on the BBC Radio,UK where presenter Nick Robins introduced her and featured the title song from her CD, also heard on CBC Radio 1 by presenter Nick Norris on "The Morning Edition", The Bob Jackson Show, UK even before it`s release and is already being played worldwide.
