Corpse in River Turns Out to be Living Old Lady

By Robert Paul Reyes

"An apparent dead body spotted floating in the River Trent in central England turned out to be a 73-year-old woman who was very much alive.

The original report came from the captain of River Princess Cruises, the Nottingham Post reported Friday. He spotted what looked like a body early Tuesday afternoon in the Trent in the suburb of Colwick."

The police officer, who responded to the scene, saw the woman floating in the water, and he also thought it was a corpse.

But he called out to her just to make sure, and the woman opened her eyes. That`s a premise for a horror flick that will scare the daylights out of the bravest soul.

The cop shed his clothes and jumped in the river wearing only his boxers, and pulled the old woman to the shore. At least nobody will be able to tell that the officer wet his drawers when the decrepit old woman opened her eyes.

The elderly woman is recuperating at a hospital. Let`s hope the officer`s next call will be something less traumatic, like somebody reporting a boat on fire on the river.
