Store Owner,96, Refuses To Give Robber Money, Offers Him Tootsie Rolls Instead: Video

By Robert Paul Reyes

"The 96-year-old owner of a Marshfield, Wis., grocery store stopped an attempted robbery by refusing to open a cash register drawer, she said.

Margaretta Wolf, who has owned Wolf`s Grocery Store for a half-century, defied a masked man who entered the store Monday, demanding cash, WXOW-TV, La Crosse, reported.

"I said, `I`m not opening up the cash register and that`s it. You can have all the Tootsie Rolls you want but I am not opening that cash register,` she said."

Even when the wannabe robber flashed a knife, the elderly store owner refused to open her register drawer.

When the hapless robber noticed the security cameras he fled the store, leaving behind his pocket knife. The oxygen thief didn`t even bother to grab a couple of Tootsie Rolls.

I commend Wolf for her bravery, but she`s lucky she`s lucky the bad guy didn`t hurt her. If Wolf wants to reach 100 years, I would advise her to buy a gun.

Let`s just hope she doesn`t shot and kill a black robber; Al Sharpton would accuse her of violating the criminal`s civil rights, and Obama would make a statement that if he had a son he would look just like the dead robber.
