Man Crushed To Death Looking For Cell Phone: Video

By Robert Paul Reyes

A" Palatine man was crushed to death in a trash compactor as he searched for his missing cell phone, authorities said.

Roger Mirro, 56, told a neighbor in his apartment complex around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday that he may have dropped his phone down the garbage chute, authorities said. Mirro asked for a key to the trash room in the lower level parking garage, they said.

Around 3 1/2 hours later, police got a call from Mirro`s wife saying he was missing, Deputy Police Chief Alan Stoeckel said in a statement."

After police spoke to the neighbors they searched the trash room and they discovered Mirro`s crushed corpse.

I feel sorry for people who are struck by lightning, run over by a Mack truck, mauled by a pack of wild dogs, but I don`t have much sympathy for this hapless fellow.

People who can`t bear to be without their cell phones are sub-humans who deserve every calamity that comes their way. By all accounts Mirro was a fine fellow, I`m only using him as an object lesson.

It wasn`t an accident that Mirro`s phone fell down the garbage chute, that evil device was on a divine trajectory.

There`s no phone reception in Mirro`s final resting place.

On a serious note, Mirro was mourned by his friends, neighbors and family as a having a big heart.
