Eydie Gorme, Dies At 84

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Eydie Gorme, singer of the Grammy-nominated "Blame it on the Bossa Nova,` died after a brief illness in Las Vegas, her husband said. She was 84.

The singer enjoyed decades of success as one half of Steve and Eydie, a singing duo with husband Steve Lawrence."

Gorme was strictly old school; she was famous for her on stage corny banter with her husband Steve Lawrence.

Gorme`s biggest hit was  1963`s "Blame It on the Bossa Nova ", which sold over one million copies.
