Pope Francis Calls Italian Teen: Video
"An Italian teenager said he received an unexpected phone call this week and spent the next eight minutes chatting with Pope Francis himself.
The pontiff rang up Stefano Cabizza in Padua on Thursday after he received a letter from the 19-year-old student that was passed on by a cardinal."
If I received a phone call from somebody identifying himself as Pope Francis, I would assume it was a prank call and I would curse out the caller.
But this wasn`t a prank call, the pontiff really called an Italian teenager in response to a letter the young man sent to the leader of the Roman Catholic Church.
This simple gesture by the pope reveals his humble nature and his political astuteness. The pope made a young man very happy, and he garnered positive publicity for his church.
Maybe the pope will turn the Catholic Church around, and when we hear about a priest calling a teen boy we won`t think he is just trying to seduce the child.
