Judge: IKEA Monkey To Remain In Private Sanctuary: Video

By Robert Paul Reyes

"A Canadian judge ruled Friday that Darwin, a macaque who became famous as the `IKEA monkey` after his escape, will not be returned to his former owner.

Ontario Superior Court Judge Mary Vallee said Yasmin Nakhuda of Toronto lost ownership of the monkey when he broke out of a locked carrier in her car in December because he is legally a wild animal. The judge said Darwin will remain in Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary.

Darwin became a celebrity when he was found in an IKEA parking lot in North York. Video of the animal dressed in a tiny shearling coat went viral on the Internet."

Nakhuda calls herself Darwin`s mom; I wouldn`t want to date a woman who considers herself the mother of a monkey. The silly woman would be the butt of jokes from your circle of friends, and you know damn well the monkey would come ahead of you.

You don`t have to be a rocket scientist or Janet Goodall to realize that a monkey is a wild animal, I repeat a wild animal, not a pet.

Nakhuda should get a clue, not to mention a boyfriend, and give up her crusade to get Darwin back. The monkey is much better off living at the Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary.
