San Jose Settles Lawsuit With Dude Shot Over 20 Times By The Cops

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Officials in San Jose, Calif., have agreed to settle a lawsuit and pay $5 million to a man who was shot by police while holding a gold-colored toy gun.

The agreement, which will go before the city council for approval Sept. 24, would give $4,950,000 to Javier Gonzales-Guerrero, who was shot by police Oct. 23, 2011, while he was passed out drunk at a hotel following a costume party.

Gonzales-Guerrero was holding a toy gun painted gold at the time of the shooting in the stairwell of the Extended Stay Deluxe Hotel."

Sometimes cops can get a little bit trigger-happy, but they were justified shooting this drunkard more than 20 times.

If you pass out drunk in the stairwell of a rat-infested extended stay hotel while wearing a costume and holding a gold-colored toy gun, do you really don`t deserve to live?

Shame on the city of San Jose for settling this lawsuit, they should have named a skid row bar after Gonzales-Guerrero and given him a couple of bottles of cheap wine.

On a serious note it`s unfortunate what happened to Gonzales-Guerrero, but the object lesson is clear: Drink in moderation.
