Vatican: Jesus Was The First Tweeter! Video!

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Jesus Christ was the world`s first tweeter because his pronouncements were `brief and full of meaning`, Vatican cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi said Wednesday.

Christ used tweets before everyone else, with elementary phrases made up of fewer than 45 characters like `Love one another, said Ravasi, the Vatican`s equivalent of a culture minister."

Less is more, especially when it comes to sermonizing. God only knows how many people have been turned off from church by longwinded pastors who don`t know when the hell to shut up. For a sermon to last longer than twenty minutes is an unpardonable sin.

Jesus tweeted pearls of wisdom; his messages were pithy, powerful and pungent. Christ`s Sermon on the Mount sounds like a series of tweets. Today`s evangelists and pastors should follow the example of Christ and keep it short and sweet.

Pope Francis has more than three million followers on Twitter in English alone. I strongly advise ministers to tweet more and preach less.
