Outrage: 911 Operator Giggles When Caller Reports Girlfriend On Fire: Video

By Robert Paul Reyes

"After a freak accident on the way to Chiva Falls left Lalo Delgado`s car and girlfriend on fire, he called 911 for help but was shocked by the unprofessional manner in which the call was handled. `Her initial reaction was laugh and giggle in the background,` said Delgado. `It was very disturbing.`"

When you call 911 to report that your girlfriend is on fire, you don`t expect the operator to cry in empathy, but by the same token you don`t  expect her to giggle.

In defense of the operator she may have been laughing at anything, maybe her co-workers were cracking jokes in the background.

However, a 911 operator must maintain a professional demeanor, regardless of the circumstances.

The giggly dispatcher is still on the job and receiving calls, pending the outcome of the investigation.

The victim has a long road to recovery, we wish her all the best.

What say you? Should the operator be fired? Set on fire to see how funny it is to burn? Or suspended, to teach her to take her job more seriously?
