Olivia Wise, Teen With Brain Cancer, Sings Katy Perry's 'Roar', Touches Millions: Video

By Robert Paul Reyes

"A Toronto teen with terminal cancer has captured the hearts of thousands with her version of pop star Katy Perry`s single `Roar,`  and now it has caught the attention of the star herself.

Olivia Wise, 16, posted a video of her rendition on YouTube, where it quickly made the rounds on social media.

In the video, the teen -- who was diagnosed with brain cancer almost two years ago -- is seen singing in a recording studio while her mother and sister watch and cheer her on."

When I hear Katy Perry`s insipid "Roar" on the radio it brings tears to my eyes, tears of grief over the sad state of pop music.

But Olivia Wise`s rendition of "Roar" brought tears to my eyes, tears of amazement at the indomitable spirit of this young girl who is dying from brain cancer.

When Olivia recorded the Katy Perry hit two months ago she was wheelchair-bound and wasn`t anywhere near full strength. But despite her weakened condition, she poured her heart into the song and brought tears to the eyes of her family who with her in the studio.

Olivia is now bed-bound and is slipping in and out of consciousness, but she`s aware that she has touched millions, and she is thrilled that Katy Perry responded to her video.

Olivia is as weak as a kitten, but she roars like a lion. Continue to roar until eternal silence and peace envelopes you!
