'Prancing Elites' Black Drag Queens Cause Uproar At Christmas Parade: Video

By Robert Paul Reyes

"The Christmas parade in Semmes, Ala., took an unexpected turn on Saturday when a group of male drag queens, the `Prancing Elites,` performed in the annual event.

The dancers were invited to perform in the Semmes Christmas parade, so they thought that their skills would be appreciated. Unfortunately that didn`t end up being the case."

Nobody, male or female, would bat a false eyelash if the "Prancing Elites" performed at a San Francisco or New York City Christmas parade.

But Semes, Alabama is a small town of less than 4,000 god-fearing souls, and it doesn`t take a rocket scientist or a sociologist to realize that a group of male drag queens wouldn`t be well-received at their annual Christmas parade.

I don`t blame the "Prancing Elites" for the controversy, after all they were invited to perform, and they were only doing their thig.

I blame the organizers of the parade, they should have at least publicized the fact that drag queens would be performing.

The "Prancing Elites" apologized to those who were offended, despite the fact that they had been asked to perform.

Christmas is a time for everybody to prance around and have a good time; Merry Christmas to all my readers.
