Lightning Breaks Finger Off Christ The Redeemer Statue In Brazil: Video

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Lightning has broken a finger off the right hand of Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro.

Father Omar, rector of the shrine that holds the statue, told the Globo radio station that lightning frequently strikes the nearly 100-foot tall statue, a symbol of Rio that overlooks the Brazilian city from the peak of the Corcovado mountain."

New York Post

The colossal Christ the Redeemer statue is an abomination and an affront to the city of Rio de Janeiro.

The gigantic graven image is a symbol of the pride and arrogance of the Catholic Church, and if it were completely destroyed it would be the perfect symbol of the depravity of the church.

Catholicism is the country`s predominant faith, but spiritism and many other Afro-Brazilian religions also thrive. Atheists, agnostics, members of other faiths, and Catholics and Protestants who abide by the Biblical command not to worship graven idols abhor this monstrosity.

The Christ the Redeemer statue looks down on a city that is infamous for flagrantly violating the Ten Commandments.

This perversion should be destroyed and replaced by a statue of Tlazolteotl, the Aztec god of lust.
