Bill Cosby to Star in New NBC Sitcom: Video

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Bill Cosby is returning to NBC with a new sitcom, a network representative told CNN on Wednesday night.

The comedian will play the patriarch of a multigenerational family.

The show brings the 76-year-old comedian back to the same network where his groundbreaking 1980s sitcom The Cosby Show had an eight-year run."

The iconic " Cosby Show" portrayed an upper-middle class African-American family; the children may have had their problems, but they were studious, well-behaved and they respected their parents.

Today sit-coms depict dysfunctional families where the dad is a lazy moron, the mom has slutty tendencies and the kids are juvenile delinquents.

Let`s hope and pray that Cosby`s new sitcom won`t strive for relevance and trendiness by featuring kids with a gangsta attitude. If I tune in to Cosby`s new show and I see kids with saggy pants, uttering epithets and being disrespectful, I will blow up my TV!
