Kate Bush Goes on Tour for First Time in 35 Years: Video

By Robert Paul Reyes

Kate Bush is the female counterpart to Cliff Richard, like Richard she achieved phenomenal success in England but failed to cause a ripple in the States.

Bush owns a truckload of British awards, including a 1987 Brit Award for Best British Female Solo Artist, and in 2002 she was recognized with an Ivor Novella Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music. But the British superstar hasn`t won a single Grammy award.

In America only Anglophiles are familiar with Kate Bush. Not only do I have much love for anything British, but I adore goofballs, and Bush is the quintessential British eccentric. Her vocal style is idiosyncratic to say the least; it takes more than one listen to warm up to her charm.

Kate Bush announced she`s playing in 15 shows at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, which is where she last performed May 14, 1979.

Kate Bush`s first concerts in 35 years: Wow what a treat!
