Mr. Alan E. Baratz, Ph.D. served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy at Avaya Inc. from January 2012 to May 6, 2012. Mr. Baratz served as Senior Vice President and President of Global Communications Solutions at Avaya Inc. since October 02, 2008. Mr. Baratz served as Senior Vice President and President, Global Communications Solutions of Avaya India Private Limited. He served as Venture Partner of Gabriel Venture Partners. He worked at International Business Machines Corp.

Mr. Baratz was responsible for the full life cycle of Avaya`s Intelligent Communications products. His organization included three of Avaya`s strategic business units: Unified Communications, Contact Center, and Small/Medium Enterprise Communications. Mr. Baratz served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Cisco Systems, Inc. He served as Senior Vice President of the Network Software and Systems Technology Group of Cisco Systems, Inc. He served as Chief Executive Officer and President of NeoPath Networks, Inc. Mr. Baratz served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Versata Inc., from August 11, 2003 to February 2005. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Zaplet, Inc. (formerly known as FireDrop, Inc.) since July 2000 and also as its President. From January 1996 to August 1999, he served as President, Software Products and Platforms (JavaSoft) division at Oracle America, Inc. (a/k/a Sun Microsystems, Inc). He served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Delphi Internet Services Inc. from June 1994 to 1995, the online business unit of Rupert Murdoch`s News Corporation and held numerous senior management positions at IBM.

Mr. Baratz served as President, Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director and Unit President of Warburg Pincus LLC and as Managing Director of Warburg Pincus Ventures L.P. He joined Zaplet from E.M. Warburg, Pincus & Co., LLC where he was instrumental in building a number of new technology companies and served as its Managing Director since September 1999. Mr. Baratz served as Chairman of UPEK, Inc. since July 2008. He has been a Director of UPEK, Inc. since July 2008. He has been Director of Versata Inc. since May 20, 2003. He serves as Director of Tao Group Limited. He serves as Member of Board of Advisors at Paxata, Inc. He served as Independent Director of Cisco Systems, Inc.

Mr. Baratz served as Director of Warburg Pincus LLC, AristaSoft Corporation, Northrop Grumman Space & Mission Systems Corporation, HiddenMind Technology and NeoPath Networks, Inc. He served as Independent Director of BlueArc Corporation from August 28, 2007 to September 2010. He served as Director of WebGain, Inc. since May 2000. He served as a Director at Network Solutions, LLC since September 1999. He served as Director of TRW Aeronautical Systems since 2001. Mr. Baratz holds BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles and Master`s Degree in Computer Science and PhD in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
