Gas Station Taking Heat for Posting Sign with Anti-Gay Slur: Video
"A sign with a gay slur on it is upsetting some customers at a LaGrange convenience store.
"The owner said he put it up because he was sick of customers coming in with saggy pants. The sign calls customers a gay slur if they choose to wear saggy pants.
`I came up with that sign, nobody else did,` said Anil Patel, who owns PCA Food Store on Hogansville Road. `Since that sign went up there, I don`t see no pants down in my store, because they read the sign and they decide what they want to be.` "
The controversial sign reads:
ONLY FAGS LIKE TO KEEP THEIR PANTS DOWN!!! PULL YOUR PANTS UP!!!
The standard sign " NO PANTS, NO SHIRT, NO SERVICE" just wasn`t getting the jog down, so the owner opted for the more controversial sign.
The saggy pants look originated in prisons where gay men let their pants slide down their butts to advertise they were sexually available.
The young thugs who favor saggy pants, many of whom are virulently anti-gay, need to be educated on the provenance of the saggy pants fashion.
But the sign goes too far, there is no need for the owner to offend his gay customers by posting a sign with an anti-gay slur.
Perhaps the owner can post this sign instead:
BITC* PLEASE! PULL YOUR PANTS UP!
