Baby Found Crawling Across 4 Lanes of Traffic: Frogger Nightmare!

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Police say a baby found crawling across a busy four-lane street in northern Utah after his 7-year-old sister took him out of his crib is safely back home.

The driver who rescued the 1-year-old boy about 5:45 p.m. Friday returned him to his mother and called police in Brigham City, 60 miles north of Salt Lake City.

`As the driver got closer she realized it was a baby crawling across the road in the number one lane,` Lt. Dennis Vincent told KSL5. `She picked the baby up and located a residence where she thought the baby belonged.`"

This isn`t a case of criminal parental neglect, the unidentified mother told authorities she was resting and put the infant in a crib to sleep. The baby`s 7-year-old sister took the baby out to play and he ended up crawling across a four-lane highway.

Taking care of a 1-year-old infant and a young daughter will wear anyone out; we shouldn`t blame the mom for taking a well-deserved nap.

However going forward the mother would be well-advised to make sure the front and back doors are locked before she takes a nap, if the baby plays Frogger again he`s going to end up a bloody smudge on the asphalt.

Mom should also ring the baby`s crib with barbed wire, and give her daughter a solid whipping for letting her little brother wander out of the house.

Police say they are unlikely to press any charges, but the case has been turned over to Children`s Services.
